Dedicated to the memory of Elijah Khaira

We wanted to set up this page for donations towards a charity close to our hearts. Our beautiful loving son Elijah was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was around the age of 11. He had many seizures when he was younger but once he was on the right medication he managed the condition and could lead a very normal life. He was living proof that you could still achieve all you dreams and aspirations and my god did he do that. We are extremely proud of the man he became, the support he gave others, how well he was loved and how well he was doing at university and his first love refereeing for the FA and his dream to make it to the premier league in this role.
For our darling boy Elijah and the many children and people living with epilepsy who are managing this.
It is estimated that over 3,000 people die each year from SUDEP and it can happen to anyone with epilepsy, although certain individuals are at a greater risk.  While certain steps can be taken to reduce this risk, there is a critical need for continued SUDEP research to try and help understand this condition better to research and understand the underlying biological mechanisms in order to prevent something as cruel as SUDEP happening to other families like ours.
Love the Khaira family. X
